MY STORY
I was born in Paris, France. My father’s career as translator for international organizations and both my parents’ sense of adventure and yearning to see the world allowed me the opportunity to discover different cultures.
From Yaoundé, Cameroon, to Montreal, Canada and finally, outside Washington, D.C., I’ve had the pleasure of exploring a variety of regions around the world.
After completing my B.A., I returned to Montreal, where I have lived ever since.
My parents instilled in me a love of reading, language and attention to detail through their own work in translation and proofreading.
HOW I GOT HERE
In Bethesda, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C., I attended the Lycée Rochambeau (French International School), where along with students from francophone countries, I studied in the French system.
I then pursued my undergraduate studies in an American university. After being fully immersed in both French and American environments, I became drawn to the “family business” (there are at least 5 other linguists/translators in my extended family)!
I realized it would allow me to remain open to the world and learn new things every day, as well as offer the ideal work-life balance I also yearned for

PROCESS
1. REVISE
- Translation is revised (stylistic comparison)
- Conduct a final check for grammar and spelling
- Deliver the translation
- You review the translated document, provide feedback and request changes if necessary.
2. TRANSLATE
Now I will:
- Read your document to understand intention and tone
- Research and send you terminology questions
- Translate the document
3. ASSESS
We negotiate a timeline. I will indicate how long your document should take to be translated. This varies according to research, complexity and quality of the original text. You will indicate the time by which you require the product to be delivered. Once this is agreed upon, we discuss the rate. The rate is based on the volume per word and some of the variables stated above.
Once the rate and deadline are agreed upon, you provide me with a purchase order, or we establish a contract
4. CONSULT
You consult me when you have a document that requires translation. You send me the document so that I can assess the work involved.
We discuss the following:
- The topic, length and format of the document
- The field (medical, legal, technical, marketing, etc.)
- The target audience, plus style and tone
- Term preferences and prohibitions
- The purpose of the translation
- Software and tools
